Alfelor to Begin Development of Caramoan Peninsula if Elected
"I will begin the development of the Caramoan Peninsula in my first 100 days." Cong. Felix R. Alfelor, Jr. said while speaking before Lakas-Kampi-CMD Leaders in Goa, Camarines Sur on his plans if he wins the gubernatorial race this coming elections.
Referring to the sad state of the roads in the Partido area, Cong. Alfelor, the Lakas-Kampi-CMD standard bearer for the gubernatorial race in Camarines Sur, noted the apparent apathy of local leaders to the plight of those who reside in the towns of Presentacion, Siruma, Caramoan and Garchitorena.
"So that is why your local leaders are always taking the helicopter in coming to Presentacion and Siruma." Alfelor added as he shared his personal experience when he traversed the 39 kilometer Siruma-Tinambac Road in 4 hours and another experience on the way to Presentacion, when two of his four "4x4" vehicles had to go back since it cannot navigate the muddy and narrow roads to the town from Lagonoy,
"Roads are basic infrastructures of development. Without good roads, how can you invite investors into your town? How can you bring your agricultural produce to big markets like Naga City and Metro Manila if one day is already wasted traversing terrible roads?" Alfelor added as he expounded on the benefits of having a good road network.
Alfelor is reknowned as one of the most prolific road builder in all of the province of Camarines Sur's history having opened and developed 4 major road networks in his district such as the Gov. Felix O. Alfelor, Sr. Highway which starts at Hanawan, Ocampo, Cam. Sur traversing through the City of Iriga, the towns of Buhi, Camarines and the towns of Polangui, Ligao, Malilipot and ending in the City of Tabaco, all in Albay. Other road networks are the GMA Super Highway, the San Fernando By-Pass Road and the Coastal Road linking Pantao Port to Pasacao Port.
