Alfelor Sticks with LAKAS-KAMPI-CMD, Supports Gibo Teodoro for President
"I continue to support Gibo Teodoro and I will stay with my party LAKAS-KAMPI-CMD."
This is the statement given by incumbent Cong. Felix "Nancing" R. Alfelor, Jr. in a press conference conducted today amidst rumors that he is supporting Liberal Party Standard Bearer Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino, III.
The rumors started when the Liberal Party Candidates in the local scene expressed support for the candidacy of Cong. Alfelor for Governor of the province of Camarines Sur. The Liberal Party has no standard bearer for the post.
The Congressman has been with the Arroyo led KAMPI Party since he started his 9-year stint as Congressman and has never wavered ever since. His nomination as party-standard bearer in the province was cemented when the KAMPI Party coalesced with LAKAS-CMD and the local LAKAS leadership turn-coated to the Nacionalista Party to support the candidacy of Sen. Manny Villar in his bid for the Presidency.
Cong. Alfelor also allayed any misconceptions that he is supporting Noynoy Aquino as his group welcomed then Secretary for National Defense Gilbert "Gibo" Teodoro in Iriga City when he visited the province to attend the induction of the local IBP Chapter at its Inducting Officer, upon the organization's invitation.
Alfelor also relayed his admiration for the LAKAS-KAMPI-CMD presidential bet which started as far as 2001 when he already saw the great potential of Gibo as a national leader when they were together as Congressmen in the House of Representatives. In fact, Cong. Alfelor has served alongside Gibo's mother as Constitutional Convention Delegate in the 1970s and has enjoyed close ties with the Teodoro family.
Alfelor said that it is fortunate that Gibo joined his party and gave him the opportunity to support Gibo all the way.
