Alfelor Supported by Ocampo Barangay Captains
Barangay Captains and Barangay Leaders of Alfelor's rival camp continue to flock the campaign headquarters of gubernatorial candidate Felix "Nancing" R. Alfelor, Jr., each one with a tale of woe and disappointment on the difficulties they have encountered from the present provincial government in this province.
"It is very difficult for us in the barangay to let our voice be heard in the capitol. Our governor is always out of his office. It is also very difficult to get an appointment." A barangay captain from the town of Ocampo said but asked not to be identified for security purposes. "It would have been okay if his promises to our barangay are fulfilled and the projects implemented." He added.
The incumbent governor, who is a scion of a rich political family, is reported to have difficulty connecting with his constituents despite his "artista-like" projections due to his focus on big tourism events which does not directly contribute to development in the barangays.
It has been reported that 17 out of 25 Barangay Captains from Ocampo, Camarines Sur supports Alfelor for Governor due to his pro-Barangay platform of governance. His track record shows that 75% of his projects are initiated by barangay officials. Based from testimonies of barangay captains in Rinconada, when the project is aligned with his vision for the district, he immediately causes the implementation of the project through the DPWH office.
"Digdi ki Alfelor mahiling mo, pirming matawo. Si Cong. Nancing mismo ang nagaatubang kan mga bisita niya. Gabos hinihinguwa niya na matabangan. Mas harani ang puso niya sa samuyang kasaraditan. Mas namamati ko na may pag-asa kita ki Nancing. (There is always many people here with the Alfelors. Cong. Nancing himself entertains his visitors. He does his best to help all who come here. His heart is nearer to us who are poor. I can feel that we have hope with Nancing.)" The Barangay Captain said in the vernacular.
